Smith
Mountain Lake is rich in natural and artificial habitats for fish. From clay
banks to rock-studded points, rip-rapped channels to dock pilings, the inviting
environment enhances your fishing experience. Game fishing is popular year round
and is experienced in many forms - from top-water casting to structure fishing
to deep-water trolling. Always known for Black Bass - largemouth and smallmouth
- the lake has a very diverse population which includes Striped Bass, Walleye,
Crappie and Muskellunge.
